CRT: With Rear Projection CRTs, 3 cathode ray tubes project red, green, and blue onto the screen.  While these TVs do not offer wide viewing angles, the picture when viewing them head on is excellent.  These televisions are affordable and provide excellent image quality.

LCD:  Slimmer and lighter than CRTs, rear projection LCDs are a very popular choice among those looking for a new television. Black level: The different types of rear projection TVs offer varying degrees of performance when it comes to black level.  DLPs generally provide the best blacks.

Viewing Angle:  The best way to see how good a TV’s viewing angles are is to go see it for yourself at your nearest Sixth Avenue Electronics retail store. You’ll get better viewing angles from an LCD, DLP or LCos, but make sure the particular model you are considering doesn’t have a screen with a lot of glare.

Connections:  As with any TV, its great picture is meaningless if it’s not displaying what you want to see.
