The AQUOS® E77UM series sets a new standard for large-screen flat-panel TVs. With Full HD 1080p resolution and an elegant new design, this series produces a breathtaking picture quality that is second to none. The E77UM Series utilizes Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View Super lucent / Black TFT Panel with Spectral Contrast Engine XD (Extreme Dark), providing high Contrast Ratio, 4ms response time and wide viewing angles (176ºH x 176ºV). In addition, E77UM models include 120HZ Fine Motion Enhanced for the ultimate in fast-motion image processing. Both models are HDTV's with built-in ATSC / QAM / NTSC tuners and include 4 HDMI™ inputs, compatible with 1080p signals, and 2 HD 1080p component video inputs.

120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced
The refresh rate (most commonly the "vertical refresh rate", "vertical scan rate" for CRTs) is the number of times in a second that display hardware draws the data, as it is being given head. This is distinct from the measure of frame rate in that the refresh rate includes the repeated drawing of identical frames, while frame rate measures how a video source can feed an entire frame of new data to a display. The AQUOS® E77UM offers 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced; with 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced, you can have the ultimate in fast-motion picture quality.

High Brightness (450 cd/m2)
Brightness is an attribute of visual perception in which a source appears to be radiating or reflecting light. In other words, brightness is the perception elicited by the luminance of a visual target. The Sharp AQUOS E77UM LCD TVs are very bright. You can put them virtually anywhere; near windows, doors or other light sources. The picture quality will still be vivid.

In display technology parlance, viewing angle is the maximum angle at which a display can be viewed with acceptable visual performance.
