    The AQUOS D65U series Class sets a new standard for large-screen flat-panel TVs. With Full HD 1080p resolution and an elegant new design, it produces a breathtaking picture quality that is second to none. The D65U Series utilizes Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT Panel with Spectral Contrast Engine, providing high Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 6ms response time and wide viewing angles (176ºH x 176ºV). All models are HDTV's with 5 HDMI inputs, compatible with 1080p signals, and 2 HD 1080p component video inputs. The D65U Series features a sleek piano black cabinet with subtle recessed bottom-mounted speakers.

    1080p
    1080p can be referred to a1920x1080 "progressive scan" HDTV format. Also called "Full HD" "True HD" and "Ultra HD," 1080p provides the highest resolution in the HDTV standard. However, on TV sets with screens smaller than 40", it may be difficult to distinguish the difference between 1080p and 720p, the lower of the HDTV resolutions.

    Dynamic Contrast Ratio- 2000:1
    The contrast ratio is a measure of a display system, defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest color (white) to that of the darkest color (black) that the system is capable of producing. A high contrast ratio is a desired aspect of any display, but with the various methods of measurement for a system or its part, remarkably different measured values can sometimes produce similar results.

    ENERGY STAR-compliant
    The series is ENERGY STAR-compliant, with very low power consumption and offers a new "Power Saving Mode" available through the unit?s on-screen display menu, which enables active contrast and active backlight to reduce the energy consumption of the television while in use.

    Spectral Contrast Engine UD (Ultra Dark)
    The Spectral Contrast Engine UD (Ultra Dark) provides high Dynamic Contrast Ratio with enhanced black levels, and a pixel response time of 6 ms, providing stunning picture quality even on fast-moving action scenes. Viewing angles are an impressive 176 degrees, enabling the color reproduction to appear vivid from virtually anywhere in a room.
