    The 40" Class (40" Diagonal) AQUOS LC-40E77U sets a new standard for large-screen flat-panel TVs. With Full HD 1080p resolution and an elegant new design, it produces a breathtaking picture quality that is second to none. The LC-40E77U utilizes Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View Superlucent/Black TFT Panel with Spectral Contrast Engine XD (Extreme Dark), providing high Contrast Ratio, 4ms response time and wide viewing angles (176º H x 176º V). In addition, the LC-40E77U includes 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced for the ultimate in fast-motion image processing. It also features built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners and includes four HDMI™ inputs, is compatible with 1080p signals, and has two HD 1080p component video inputs. The LC-40E77U features a sleek piano black cabinet with subtle recessed bottom-mounted speakers. The included table stand easily removes for wall mounting applications. Not only does the E77U series provide a stunning picture, but it also features a new design sure to complement any decor. The black cabinet blends elegantly into to a soft champagne gold hue that accents the bottom of the frame, befitting both modern and traditional design schemes.

    Full HD 1080p
    1080p is the shorthand name for a category of HDTV video modes. The number "1080" represents 1,080 lines of vertical resolution (1080 horizontal scan lines), while the letter p stands for progressive scan (meaning the image is not interlaced). 1080p can be referred to as full HD or full high definition to differentiate it from other HDTV video modes.

    120Hz Fine Motion Processing
    HDTV blur is a common term used to describe a number of different artifacts on modern consumer high-definition television sets. The following factors are generally the primary or secondary causes of HDTV blur; in some cases more than one of these factors may be in play at the studio or receiver end of the transmission chain. One possible advantage of a 120 Hz display is superior conversion of the standard 24 frame/s film speed. Usually movies and other film sources in NTSC are converted for home viewing using what is called 3:2 pull down which uses 4 frames from the original to create 5 (interlaced) frames in the output. At 120 Hz 5:5 pull down from 24 frame/s video is possible meaning all frames are on screen for the same 42 milliseconds. This eliminates the jerky effect associated with 3:2 pull down called telecine judder.

    4mns response time
    In technology, response time is the time a system or functional unit takes to react to a given input. Response time is the amount of time a pixel in an LCD monitor takes to go from black to white and back to black again. It is measured in milliseconds (ms). Lower numbers mean faster transitions and therefore fewer visible image artifacts.

    HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed digital data. It represents a digital alternative to consumer analog standards such as Radio Frequency (RF) coaxial cable, composite video, S-Video, SCART, component video, D-Terminal, and VGA.
