    The Panasonic TCP 42" G10 series are standard depth plasmas (around 3.5"). The G10 uses Panasonics new "green" (low power) Neo PDP technology with Infinite Black and 40,000:1 contrast ratio and full 1080 lines of motion resolution. They Panasonic G10 series also feature VIERA Cast Internet connectivity, THX certification, AVCHD home movies, and 3 HDMI inputs.              

    Native Contrast Ratio (40,000: 1)
    The contrast ratio is a measure of a display system, defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest color (white) to that of the darkest color (black) that the system is capable of producing. A high contrast ratio is a desired aspect of any display, but with the various methods of measurement for a system or its part, remarkably different measured values can sometimes produce similar results.

    VIERA Link is a function that lets you easily operate various AV devices that are inter connected with your VIERA TV, using only the VIERA remote control. You can choose the connection method -- either an HDMI cable or a LAN cable -- to match your devices and applications.     Viera Image Viewer / Viera Cast
    VIERA Image Viewer makes it easy to watch full-HD images by using the SD card slot. It lets you enjoy high-resolution, full-HD photos and videos with superb image quality and vivid colors on Viera's large screen. Simply insert an SD card into the SD card slot to show your photos and full-HD videos on the large screen! VIERA Cast uses the television's built-in ethernet port you can connect the TV to the Internet and access Panasonic's proprietary content service.

    1080 lines of resolution
    The "full 1080 lines of motion resolution" means that when there is action going on in the video, the TV is able to display all the content accurately. This is a subtle point, because most people think 1080p means 1080 lines of resolution; however, most TVs released before 2009 while claiming 1080p resolution didn't actually display all 1080 lines of resolution when there was activity on the screen. This full motion resolution should result in a crisper picture than found on previous Panasonic displays.

    Full HD 1080p with Neo PDP
    In addition to the meaning of 1080p as a display resolution, 1080p is also used to describe video equipment capabilities. Use of 1080p and the closely related 1080p labels in consumer products may refer to a range of capabilities. For example, video equipment that up scales to 1080p takes lower resolution material and reformats it for a higher resolution display. This is Panasonic's marketing name for their new plasma technology introduced in 2009. Specifically, Panasonic claims that they focused on improving black levels, contrast ratio, and motion resolution.

    THX Certification
    THX Certification was first introduced with the 2008; Panasonic partners up with THX in 2009 to certify that the Z1 television series, and add their specially calibrated picture mode for more accurate film settings.

    3-HDMI inputs
    This is a new interface standard for high definition televisions. HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. If you are looking for a high definition television, it should have at least one of these connectors. If you want to connect multiple HD devices, such as a cable box and a high definition DVD player, look for a television with multiple HDMI connections.
