    The LG 50PQ30 Plasma television offers an Auto Volume Leveler II which helps to reduce large swings in volume output during commercials and when changing channels. The LG 50PQ30 Plasma television also offers SimpLink connectivity to compatible digital cameras and camcorders. The plasma has 3 HDMI inputs and contains LG's Deep color V.1.3 technology which can add depth and dimension to movies. Lastly, the resolution of 720p (1366 X 768) may seem like yesterdays HD resolution, but since you will be viewing 95% or more of your HD content in either 1080i or 720p these 720p plasmas are the best bang for the buck as the price is always considerably less.

    720p resolution
    720p is the shorthand name for a category of HDTV video modes. The number 720 stands for the 720 vertical scan lines of display resolution (also known as 720 pixels of vertical resolution), while the letter p stands for progressive scan or non-interlaced. 720p has a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9 and a vertical resolution of 720 pixels

    3 HDMI inputs
    This is a new interface standard for high definition televisions. HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. If you are looking for a high definition television, it should have at least one of these connectors. If you want to connect multiple HD devices, such as a cable box and a high definition DVD player, look for a television with multiple HDMI connections.

    The LG 50PQ30 Plasma television offers convenient control of other LG SimpLink products using the existing HDMI connection. By using the SIMPLINK button, all HDMI devices connected to LG's TVs, including DVD players and home theater systems can be easily controlled. SimpLink creates a truly integrated home theater experience.

    Dynamic Contrast Ratio: 30,000: 1
    A notable recent development in the LCD technology is the so called "dynamic contrast" (DC). When there is a need to display a dark image, the display would under power the backlight lamp (or decrease the aperture of the projector's lens using an iris), but will proportionately amplify the transmission through the LCD panel. This gives the benefit of realizing the potential static contrast ratio of the LCD panel in dark scenes, when the image is watched in a dark room.
